Respite and In-Home Support

Every family’s situation is a bit different. Some need help with day-to-day routines at home. Others just need a few hours where someone reliable is there, so they can step away without worrying. Zoe Care Support Services works with both quietly, practically, without turning it into a bigger production than it needs to be.

We’re a Registered NDIS Provider providing personalised respite and in-home support that respects each participant’s individual routines, preferences and goals.

Two Things, Really

In-home support is exactly what it sounds like support delivered where someone already lives, around the routines they already have. Respite is slightly different. It’s short-term. It exists so a family member or carer gets a proper break, and the participant still gets consistent, familiar support while that’s happening.

Why does it matter that it happens at home? Mostly because unfamiliar places add friction. A new environment means new adjustment, and that’s not something most people want layered on top of already needing support. Staying home keeps things simple.

This support includes 24-hour supervision, Supported Independent Living (SIL), or nursing and clinical care such as medication management. If these supports are required, they will need to be arranged through an appropriate provider.

What This Actually Looks Like Day to Day

Depends a lot on the household, honestly. For some participants it’s:

Getting through morning or evening routines with a bit of help
Someone present in the home for company and support
A few hours of respite so a carer can get groceries done, rest, or just not be "on" for a while
Support that keeps a familiar routine going rather than replacing it

For others it’s less frequent maybe just occasional respite when something specific comes up. There’s no set package here. We work out what’s useful with the people involved, not before.

How We Go About It

Listening comes first, always. Before anything gets arranged, we want to understand what the current routine actually looks like not assume it.

From there, we try to work within what’s already there. A participant’s home runs a certain way, and our job is to fit into that, not rearrange it. Choice sits with the participant as much as possible what support looks like, how much, and when.

Families and carers are part of this too, when that’s wanted. Coordinating with them tends to make things run more smoothly, particularly for respite, since timing usually matters more there.

Who Tends to Use This Support

Families needing a short-term break. Carers who need some relief now and then. Participants who want support at home but still want to stay as independent as possible. It’s not tied to a particular diagnosis or age group more just a question of whether the situation fits.

Why Choose Zoe Care Support Services

We’re registered, which means we meet the standards the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission sets—not a marketing line, an actual requirement. Beyond that: support built around the participant’s routine rather than ours, support workers who bring patience into the home environment, and communication that doesn’t overpromise. We take the time to understand each participant’s individual needs so the support we provide fits naturally into everyday life.

Who We Support

We provide respite and in-home support for NDIS participants, their families and carers who are looking for flexible, person-centred assistance. Whether you need regular in-home support or occasional respite, we’re happy to discuss how we can tailor support to your individual circumstances.
